John BradleyThe Racing Motorcycle - A Technical Guide for Constructors V1400 pages, ISBN 0951292927 A4 softback, Broadland Leisure Publications 1996 Not about a particular bike or engine or manufacturer but a very thoughtful book about getting your whole competition package right. Particular interest items include how to take air (for cooling or carburation) from an air stream with little or no drag, the myths of ram air induction, and understanding drag. Even with mundane topics such as Centre of Gravity or Suspension Damping John is able to give a detailed account and answer questions you didn't even think to ask. There are plenty of tables to help you with the calculations. Because of its thickness and soft flexibility, it is a book that needs to be cared for. Contents list

John BradleyThe Racing Motorcycle - A Technical Guide for Constructors V2460 pages, ISBN 0951292935 A4 softback, Broadland Leisure Publications 2003 As before, not about a particular bike but a very useful book about how to do stuff yourself. Want to build a frame, or tank? Choose your steel and alloy with care and John's guide. Lots about beating, bending, bashing and welding. Read this, and unless you are an expert, you will make a better job first time around. That alone will recoup the cost of the book. Contents list
